Walsall Manor Hospital recall shoulder op patients

Concerns have been raised about shoulder surgery carried out by Mr Mian Munawar Shah, an orthopaedic surgeon who practices at Walsall Manor Hospital.

Michele Paduano, BBC Midlands health correspondent reports that a review by the Royal College of Surgeons has raised concerns about the work carried out by orthopaedic surgeon Mr Mian Munawar Shah at Walsall Manor Hospital.

The BBC reports that Mr Shah has been suspended by the Walsall Healthcare Trust and the hospital is writing to 600 patients who may have been affected and has set up a helpline.

The Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service (MPTS) has imposed interim measures on Mr Shah’s licence stopping him from doing laterjet procedures and shoulder joint replacements without supervision.
